Fuel Cell Systems achieves full acceptance from Network Rail for EFOY Direct Methanol Fuel Cells
Fuel Cell Systems is proud to announce that its latest generation of EFOY Direct Methanol Fuel Cells has received a Certificate of Full Acceptance from Network Rail. This certification confirms the reliability and suitability of EFOY fuel cells for various rail network applications across the UK.
EFOY fuel cells provide a dependable long-lasting power solution, ideal for environments where conventional power is inaccessible. Fuel Cell Systems is currently collaborating with Network Rail on projects throughout the UK, deploying these fuel cells in critical areas including signalling, pedestrian level crossing, flood management systems and CCTV/Security systems.
‘Receiving full acceptance from Network Rail for the latest generation of EFOY fuel cells enables us to provide reliable off-grid power to the 10,000 miles of UK rail network’ said Henry Mills, Sales Manager at Fuel Cell Systems. ‘This endorsement demonstrates the reliability of our products and our commitment to delivering robust and efficient energy solutions for critical infrastructure, enabling safer and more reliable operations across the rail network.’
EFOY fuel cells offer several key advantages for rail applications. Much of the UK’s railway network lacks accessible power sources, making fuel cells an ideal solution for powering essential systems. With their long runtimes, fuel cells reduce the need for operatives to visit hazardous trackside locations frequently, enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
This certification marks a significant step toward the wider adoption of EFOY fuel cells across the UK’s rail infrastructure, further solidifying Fuel Cell Systems’ role as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.
